Entirely routine. It's short for "Money laundering identification check" and just means that a company has used the credit reference agency to check your identity. That can happen for new tenancies as well as for credit or opening bank accounts.

If you made no applications at the time the entry was made it might be a cause for concern that could imply an attempt at identity theft but that's unlikely.

It doesn't mean that there has been an attempt to launder money.

Head scratching is a good reaction. Seems like a long enough time without trouble but asking HBOS what happened would be a good idea just in case there's an account open for you there now that you don't know about. Not really likely, but easy enough to check.
