August Newsletter

| Created: 18/08/2007 |

Dear Stoozer
Welcome to the August Stoozing newsletter - our first for a good few months. Credit cards have been pretty stable during that time so we felt a regular monthly newsletter was not necessary. However, the Bank of England has been busy raising interest rates and many card issuers are upping the stakes with new deals ( Barclays, NatWest and Virgin offering 13 and 15 month offers, albeit on the unlimited fees front), so we felt now was a good time to keep you up to date. In addition, we have been busy writing some more articles to help you get the most out of your stoozing!
Best wishes
Stooz and Clariman

Best Deals

If you subscribe to other site's newsletters you may be slightly cynical that "best deals" lists frequently feature products that make the site money, rather than ones that truly are the best. At stoozing.com we aim to tell you about all the best deals - irrespective of whether they benefit the site. On the left hand side of the newsletter you will see the normal links to our best buy tables. However, there are a few we wish to highlight. (N.B. as always; please double check the terms of any deal during the application process to confirm the Ts & Cs at the time of application).

Best Balance Transfer Cards

Big movers are , NatWest, Barclays and Virgin who extend their offers over a year. Citybank hold a range of cards that fit into all the categories but don't discount the virgin Atlantic card with its low max BT Fee.

Best Purchases Cards

The HSBC and the Halifax still top the Purchase rates with 12 months each.

Best Life of Balance Card

Goldfish storm back into life for the non stoozers who are just looking for a good deal for a low rate lending with the new at only 3.9% until 2010 and check HSBC if you need an even longer deal. The difference in fees may swing it for you.

Best Savings Accounts

ICICI leap to the top once more with their latest increase in rates.

Other News

The bank of England voted 9-0 to keep the base rate at 5.75% at the last meeting. With inflation at 1.9% below the 2% target for the first time, will this produce some new card offers?
