Re: Best Spending Card to back up Amex Cashback?

I have changed to Barclaycard Cashback today.. As an Amex backup. But StringyBobs revelation is far more important.. Being able to double up on Cashback/Rewards is something special.

Re: Best Spending Card to back up Amex Cashback?

ah yes, there could be a benefit in retaining that BCAmex afterall.. good thinking Sarah. from what i've read, i think moving to BC Cashback ought to be possible. i quite fancy HHonors, but i don't think that is likely to be transferred in to. according to rewards calculator at MSE it works out to 1...

Re: HSBC

good work Sar ;) i applied thinking i would actually pay the fee and use the card to store a balance transfer.. cheap money at 1.4% for 32 months. but i found Lloyds prepared to give me a good chunk fee free, a little slice free from Nationwide too, and then MBNA prepared to lend good money for 1.49...

Re: New CC application, should I lower existing card limit and apply at bank with existing accounts?

fwiw though joker, i've always found that Lloyds have been far more generous, and flexible, re. limits than Halifax. this has included times when i've had active, relatively high balance Halifax accounts, and no accounts at all with Lloyds.

Re: HSBC

agreed kp. i applied the other week and have the account.
i've only bought a lottery ticket though, and will probably just close, as have other deals which are fee free and an MBNA deal with a much better limit.
