royal bank of scotland 23 months 0% no fee

As the title says, just had a promo leaflet in the post. Must be an existing customer, unfortunately I only have £20 balance and haven't used the current account for over a year. I already have a fair stooze balance on other cards, I'm going to sling £1k in the current account first and apply toward...

Re: Fund Selection for ISA

I'm not much one for funds, I do like investment trusts and ETFs. I also hold large cap FSTE 100/250 high yielders. I've been put off funds by charges. ETFs with no stamp duty and low, low sub 0.25% ongoing annual charges win me over. A word on diversity, I have been increasing my international expo...

Re: Go big or go home (or pay for one!)

Like cashback I'd like to see your workings. Unfortunately my potential stooze pot wouldn't get near my outstanding mortgage unless I doubled it and my mortgage rate is low and fixed for the next 4 years and not offesttable. I remember reading on the old board about offsetting and an old friend of m...

Re: 'Spare' MBNA Card?

I have a spare MBNA card, they auto increase my credit limits and like you I think I could get more repeats holding 2 cards and then merge the biggest limit onto the card with the best offer at the time. I think this might work but currently offers have been a bit stingy on duration with higher fees...

Re: Barclaycard offer

Marges, If you have an MBNA account or two with zero balances or small debts you could transfer the 11k to them and then ask MBNA customer services phone or as I prefe via online message to move the credit balance to your current account. In fact MBNA offer a fee free transfer account I use for just...

Re: Credit scores

I use noddle, I like mike_p's comment about if your credit score is rising make more applications. I usually apply when I see a good offer or I have money to shuffle coming to an end. I do get turned down and when that happens I have a good tidy up, no more applications for at least 6 month and clos...

Re: Tesco 0% 40mths BT 2.69% fee

I like that offer but already hold a Tesco card zero balance, I wonder if a call to CS would match the offer? I'm off new cards applications for now as my stoozed balance is again more than my salary and I've been turned down by M&S for a bank account and by the post office credit card.

Re: tax free savings

I have some in p2p, reg savers HSBC, first direct and hopefully soon M&S. Bank account switching gets a few extra quid too. I also like bank preferential shares but that's not totally risk free. For those who like p2p there a further chance with shared referrals , rate setter offer £50 referral ...

Re: How did you start Stoozing? And how has it evolved?

Like Cashback, I started with Egg money, no fee cards and around 6% savings. I've evolved my stoozing using the stooze pot for matched betting, got into the regular savers and more recently peer to peer lending. I have also moved some of my stooze pot into longer term stock market investment. I'm ju...
