i have received the card and wasn't aware of the £1/yr fee, either.
5% is indeed a great cb rate, but as above it's all about the prices you have to pay to generate it..
in the Midlands most of the Co-ops i call at are Central England or Midcounties branches..

indeed. and the problem is that with a 1.25% topline the card is still ahead of the game. and is there any other provider matching 1%cb now?

i have just one Amex, Sarah, that i've had for years. no fee. and on mine they have reduced the top rate from 1.5% to 1.25%.. in contrast to previous years i'm unlikely to reach £10k spending as it stands. still frustrating though.. i liked bagging 1.5%.
