Re: New cards for 2016
good to see some competitive deals on the market..
i've applied for 4 cards since New Year:
MBNA for a 32m deal with a 1.49%fee.
Lloyds: 20m deal with no fee: but seems as though i am only receiving 13m
Nationwide: 12m with no fee. also £25 on the way in from Nationwide, and similar from QC.
HSBC: 32m. 1.4%fee. £25 kickback too.

Re: New cards for 2016
3 applications for me this year (applied at the same time to increase my chances, not sure if that makes a difference). Not had any new cards for a few months due to a couple of rejections and the MSE eligibility checker not giving me much chance of success.
MBNA - same card as above
Tesco - 21m, no fee, Qco £30 plus a refer a friend clubcard points bonus hopefully.
AA - 22m, no fee, TCB available but got knocked back

Re: New cards for 2016
the Tesco and AA accounts are good deals StringyBob.. sorry BOI didn't play ball.
i applied same day too.. and went for all four as i was getting indications as to limits. i've been caught out a bit now as i've actually had more success than i expected, so am now going to have a Barclaycard with a +balance.
current Barclaycard policy for returning +balances to current account?

Re: New cards for 2016
I already have a Post Office card (18 months interest free) that is due to end soon so that might be why the AA rejected me as they are both supplied by BOI. I probably should have waited before applying but thought I might aswell do a few at once and see what I get.
What do you mean by 'getting indications as to limits' ?
I'm going to be fully offset on my mortgage for a few months now so that's good enough for me.
Barclaycard current policy I'm not sure about, I have read on the old forum I think that they have been happy enough to do this in the past.
I use the MBNA card (I got this info off the previous forum) that lets you transfer into your current account and balance transfer for no fee but with 6.5% APR. I assume you know about this one, very handy for transferring balances about for a very small or no fee.

Re: New cards for 2016
i'll be moving the debt To MBNA Stringy, so i think i might be banking on Barclaycard letting at my money
and i was told what limit i would get at Lloyds, for example. £5k. which was correct. but then when i spoke to them they upped to £20k. which is good, but also means i now have more facility at good rates than i have debt for. not sure whether to max it all out and then try to persuade Barclaycard to release it.. if it doesn't work out i could finish up paying fees for funds that are returned.

Re: New cards for 2016
Got 6k left on a TSB card that needs paying off or transferring soon. Coming up to 6 months since I last applied for the 3 cards I mentioned above. I have used the MSE eligibility checker to see what new card I might be able to get. Results were 0% chance on every card. Is that normal?
Anyone got any tips on how best to get another card? Is it worth me applying for a Lloyds or HSBC card as I have current accounts with them?
Thanks
