i've tried to apply for the Nationwide Select card today.. can't manage it online. then through to telephone applications who struggled too. they're a farce.. but i want their No Interest No Fee.

Oh. What's the problem? I have a Select card but acquired it by switching from their Gold card; it's probably more than a decade since I originally applied.

I had some "fun" with Nationwide recently - went to a branch to enquire about an ISA transfer. They filled out a form and did the transfer there & then in the branch. However, a week later, I received the form back in the post with a note saying some details were missing. So I took it back to a branch and asked if anyone really cared since the transfer was already complete; they made some calls, corrected the form and sent it off again. Another week later, the same form turned up in the post yet again with a note saying it was still incomplete... meanwhile my transferred ISA seems just fine, so I'm ignoring the form now!

they're a shower. they have my address fine for my current account and savings accounts, but the credit card application online had my current address as my previous address.. and and what they have as my current address is an incorrect version of my current address. had to call as it was incorrect, took me into a phone application instead, and they stalled and said they'd have to call me back in 10 minutes. the following day: still no call.

i've called again and have completed a Select Card application. good terms, but a limit of only £4800.

Tough luck, glad to hear that Barclaycard is able to rescue you!

i'm not sure why i'm being declined.. other than that i have moved house twice in the past year, and i do have a lot of available credit. i bank with HSBC and Lloyds and put decent money through the accounts each month.

'rescue' or 'stitch up'... we shall see :)
