MBNA / Fluid Card Question

Hi All,

I’m relatively new to stoozing, I used to read the old forum with interest but was never able to register.

Luckily I’ve registered here so I would like to join in as there are more experienced stoozers than myself.

Hopefully I will be able to offer advice along the way but first of all I have a question.

I’ve been accepted for the MBNA 32 month 0% card. I also have the MBNA Fluid card which I opened 12 months ago for my first stooze, this now has a zero balance but a large credit limit.

Am I correct in thinking that MBNA should let me transfer most or all of my credit limit from the Fluid card to my new MBNA card?

Thanks,
SB

Hi, they should let you.
I have done this in the past, with MBNA cards.
It won't hurt to call them and ask, the worst is they will say no.
Let us know how you get on

i wouldn't say they 'should', but certainly call them and ask..
in the past i have moved the limit across to the card with the current good deal, and closed the other card.
but others have left the old account open with a small limit, and found this useful in that they sometimes have a repeat deal offered on the 'old' account and then moved limit back again :geek:

Thanks Planteria.

Just waiting for my new card to arrive and then I will ring and hopefully they will do the merge.

Good advice to keep the old account open. I have found MBNA to be the most generous with credit limits.

Always my favourite. A lot is going to Virgin, and they are generous too, but yes to your question, they tend to merge credit limits.

Rang MBNA and they have transferred 12k from my Fluid card to my new 32 months MBNA card. From recently not being able to get any new cards with decent limts I've managed to get a great deal with MBNA.
Kept my Fluid card open as I might be able to do this again in the future.
