BTW, has anyone managed to get more than one reward account recently by upgrading online from a basic account?

I managed to do this once a while ago but it looks like Halifax have put a stop to it.

I haven't been able to upgrade extra accounts since April.

The latest one is stuck as a basic current account.

I'll try one more time before I give up. The one in April required me to set up another online banking account. Then when I applied for a further account using the new username, it set up the basic account on my old username.

Very strange. It looks like the loophole is closed

I'm the same as you with a Basic Account that I can't upgrade. I've added 4 direct debits to it and will switch to Co-op to get the £150 incentive.

Halifax are cutting the rewards again from £3 to £2 on 1 October 2018.

I don't have a similar letter from BoS yet but presume they'll be doing the same.
