Re: spam
The original site now seems to have a more serious problem - all pages are triggering a virus warning for me (actually blocked by an enterprise gateway)! e.g. Malware Detected The transferred file contained a virus and was therefore blocked. Re: Best Spending Card to back up Amex Cashback?
Got my £25 for the Asda card shortly after it was initially declined; my claim went payable in just a few days!

Re: Money management
First Direct Internet Banking Plus is a branded version of Account Unity, which is what I've used for years. Egg Money Manager was also the same service. I prefer Account Unity to Money Dashboard as your account details are stored encrypted locally on your PC instead of on a remote website. It only ...

Re: Best Spending Card to back up Amex Cashback?
I experienced that same error applying for the Asda card on my first attempt; waited a couple of days then second time it worked okay. The TCB cashback is £26.25 presumably only for premium members; it's £25.25 for me as I don't pay. Mine has just changed from tracked to declined today, so I'll have...

Re: Best Spending Card to back up Amex Cashback?
I used my new Asda card for the first time this morning... it'll be awhile longer before I make any payments. I'm happy to collect the £25 cashback and hold it as a backup 0.5% cashback card, regardless of any other purpose.

Also getting down to even smaller numbers, there's still 2% on £3000 at Yorkshire Bank and £150 for switching:

Re: Less interest for Jan
Fun with statistics, eh? If you put the full £2000 into an account for the full term then you get the maximum amount of interest, even if the APR is then slightly below 5%. We're talking about a difference that's a tiny percentage of interest on interest, so I'm not going to get too worked up about ...

Re: Best Spending Card to back up Amex Cashback?
If you can settle the Asda card by making a payment from Nationwide Select (which would be an anomaly itself, regardless of it earning cashback, since a credit card to credit card payment wouldn't usually be possible other than a balance transfer) then presumably there's no need to shift the funds v...
